Why Bring a Prop
Everyone feels less awkward when they have something to hold. Make your senior session unique to you by bringing something that represents your hobbies or future career. Here are some great examples of props I love to use during senior sessions!
Musical Props
These can be instruments you play such as a violin or a guitar, or music you love to listen to. Who is your favorite band? Bring your favorite vinyl to hold or pose with your instrument. These often make for beautiful photos.
Sports Props
For the guys this can be a football, letterman jacket or anything related to your favorite sport. Often I will bring along an American flag to further up the dramatics to our sports sessions.
Nature Props
I always bring along bunch of artificial flowers that make sense with the time of year and location but often we end up finding even better ones growing naturally. These are always cute to hold!
Outfit Props
Think cowboy hats to hold or wear, oversized jackets or shades. These always add an element of fun and style!
Career Props
These can be things like nursing props, lab coats, etc. Anything that represents you and your future plans!
Religion Props
One of my favorite sessions we used items to represent faith. We included a bible and a wooden cross. Other things could be jewelry we focus in on or anything special to you!
